She took an interest in teaching and choreography at a young age and won her first dance competition with her own choreography at the age of 12. As she got older, she went on to help teach and choreograph at multiple studios, and also taught ballet at a homeschool co-op in Weatherford, Texas. In Junior High, she began attending Margo Dean’s School of Ballet, where she studied extensively in Classical Ballet and Pointe under Artistic Director Webster Dean. While there, she began performing with Ballet Concert of Fort Worth, Texas and continued to perform professionally in their Corps de Ballet in classical pieces such as “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Les Sylphides” for several years. Kelsey later went on to attend college at Sam Houston State University, where she studied teaching in Ballet and Modern for three years and participated in several of their showcases with guest choreographers. Most recently in 2023, while living at Yokota Air Base in Tokyo, Japan she taught Jazz dance classes at their community center to military children.
